Training is for life, training is for business

In an unregulated market such as estate agency, to me training and professional qualifications are of utmost importance. When we designed the HomeXperts property franchise model our initial training period was one week. How things have changed! At the beginning of 2012 we took the step of training all our existing franchisees on the National Federation of Property Professional (NFOPP) courses for the Technical Awards in Residential Sales and Lettings. At this time we also introduced the NFOPP training modules into our Training Academy. All new franchisees now get trained to NFOPP standards and take their exams at the end of the training academy. We have a 100% pass rate. This means when our franchisees start their business they already have a professional qualification in estate agency and lettings. It is a huge confidence booster to know you are more qualified on paper than 80% of the agents in your area! As we near the end of the latest training academy and I have been fortunate to spend the last two days with the new franchisees, I am proud of how far they have already come on their journey with HomeXperts. For these people, the end of the HomeXperts training academy is the start of their new Estate agency franchise business. For the new estate and letting agency franchisees with exams to pass and still lots of set up left to do there is not much time for thinking. However there is still time for me to reflect on how exceptional the people we recruit to join HomeXperts are, and what a privilege it is for me to be part of their journey.
